The
BUS EXCLUSION PROCEDURE
Students who misbehave, endanger, or infringe upon the rights of others
may be excluded from the bus for a specific period of time and/or serve
after-school detention. These sanctions
will be effected when the student is in
attendance. If a student is excluded
from the bus or detained after school, it will be the responsibility of the
parents to provide transportation to and/or from school. Proper notice will be supplied. The following procedures will normally be
taken in dealing with bus behavior problems; however, the administration
reserves the right to alter sanctions based upon the severity of the
infraction.
• The bus driver will advise the student to conform to
regulations.
• If the student continues to misbehave, a bus conduct form will
be initiated by the driver. A conference
will be held with the student and the principal. The parent and homeroom teacher will receive
a copy of the conduct form and may call the office if they wish for
clarifications.
• If the child continues to misbehave and a second conduct
form is filed, the parents will be called and a one-day exclusion from the bus
and/or after-school detention will be effected immediately upon parental
notification.
• If a third conduct report is
filed, the parents will be called and a three-day exclusion/detention will be
effected.
• The fourth and subsequent conduct reports will result in
a minimum five-day exclusion/detention, but may be extended for a longer
duration. The Board of Education will
discuss any exclusion that has been extended beyond five days. All exclusions will be reported to the full
Board of Education at their next regularly scheduled meeting. The Board of Education may reinstate or
extend the student's bus privileges and may request a meeting with the parents
if the situation warrants such a meeting.
TRANSPORTATION

furnished to all students. Parents or
guardians will assume full responsibility for any other methods of transportation
and the school must be notified in writing concerning changes in transportation We
have several buses at full capacity and several other runs are near full
capacity. Bus "jumping" for social reasons cannot be honored.

long-term changes and/or emergency reasons.

to the office and may enter the back of the school (cafeteria).
