Dear Parent/Guardian:
On
January 8, 2002, President Bush signed into law the No Child Left Behind Act
(NCLB). A provision of this new Title I
law requires all districts to notify parents of all children in Title I schools
that they have the right to request and receive timely information on the
professional qualifications of their children’s classroom teachers.
You
are entitled to know:
1) Whether the teacher has met State Qualifications and
licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher
provides instruction.
2) Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or
other provisional status.
3) The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and
other graduate certification
of degree of the teacher and
the field of the certification or degree.
4) Whether your child is provided services by
paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
Because
our school district receives Title I funds, we are notifying you of your
“Right-to-Know” this information. Please
call me at school if you have questions regarding this notification.
Sincerely,
Dominic
